A variety of genres will be explored. Lessons will center mostly around classic teaching literature, but students will have opportunities to add extracurricular music (holiday, pop songs, hymn arrangements, jazz standards...)

It's not possible to advance in skill without a solid foundation. Technical skills will be explored with extra technical exercises at the beginning of each lesson as well as throughout repertoire.

Written and aural aspects of music will also be explored through each lesson with theory assignments and "play by ear" exercises.

Group classes will be held twice each semester with focus on additional musical activities - performances, duets, study of historical eras/ composers, and composition/ improvisation activities.

Students have the opportunity to participage in 2 studio recitals, one in December and one in May. This is a great way to show your family how much you've learned.
